CHICAGO — A Chicago man who was arrested for indecent exposure on the Blue Line last month and then released from the station to await trial is now jailed after he allegedly sexually abused a woman as she walked with a baby stroller in Bucktown.

The woman was assaulted as she pushed the baby stroller in the 1900 block of North Damen just before 10 a.m. on April 9, according to a Chicago police report. She told police a man ran up behind her, grabbed her buttocks, and penetrated her private area with his finger, prosecutors said in a detention petition.

Cops arrested Wadny Armand, 21, nearby after the victim and a witness identified him as the assailant.

Judge Mary Marubio granted the state’s detention petition, citing the “randomness and compulsivity” of Armand’s alleged behavior.

“He attacked a woman with a baby stroller in the middle of the day on a public sidewalk,” Marubio wrote in her order. She also pointed to a previous voyeurism conviction.

Armand is charged with criminal sexual abuse by force.

Court records show Forest Park police arrested Armand on March 6 for allegedly exposing his private parts on an occupied Blue Line train. He was given a court date and he went home from the station. The case is still pending.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.
