FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Officials with the Fresno Police Department say that a threat on social media involving what looked like a person with a gun prompted a lockdown at Edison High School in Fresno on Friday.

According to Fresno Police, an officer saw someone who looked like the person in the social media post.

When the officer attempted to contact the individual that individual took off running, and the school was shut down as a precautionary measure. It is unknown if the person who ran away was the person in the social media post.

A precautionary lockdown was imposed at the school at the time, but that lockdown has since been lifted.

The threat occurred while Edison High School was preparing to unveil its commemorative peace garden in memory of Ali Shabazz.

No arrests have been announced at this time. No other information was available.
