CHICAGO — Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck a bicyclist in North Center last week and they’re hoping the public will help them find additional video or identify the woman responsible.

The woman hit a 22-year-old man as he rode his bike in the 2200 block of West Grace around 5:48 p.m. on July 1, according to CPD. She left the scene, leaving the injured bicyclist behind.

Police have located and towed the car that struck the man, but they still need more information about the driver. They’re also hoping to identify additional witnesses and find private surveillance video to help build their case.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the car, the driver, or the crash to call them at 312-745-4521. Refer to case #JH-329200.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
